Art Basel: Paris 2024 Edition
The Art Basel show in Paris has just been hosted from October 16 to 20 at the iconic Grand Palais, right in the heart of the French capital. This has prompted us to explore the celebrated artists of our time, get familiar with their works, and identify those who create works that resonates the most with us. We discovered the contemporary art gallery - Lévy Gorvy Dayan exhibiting thought-provoking works from both established and emerging artists.
Dominique Lévy, Brett Gorvy, and Amalia Dayan are esteemed art professionals and co-founders of the gallery, each bringing unique expertise in contemporary art, market trends, and curatorial practice. They have a global presence in New York, London, and Hong Kong, and are currently showcasing two exhibitions featuring themes of works that we find intriguing.
Enchanted Alchemies: Magic, Mysticism, and the Occult in Art
An exhibition in London from October 1 - December 21, 2024 exploring themes of magic, mysticism, and the occult in art. Featuring over 50 works by 27 artists spanning painting, sculpture, ceramic, watercolour, and collage- some newly created- Enchanted Alchemies brings together a range of expressive approaches to magic and mystical thinking. The exhibition display will evolve through two phases to reflect the transformative and alchemical themes of the artists’ works.
Francesco Clemente: Summer Love in the Fall
The first exhibition of a venerated artist at the gallery’s Beaux-Arts townhouse at 19 East 64th Street from October 29 - December 21, 2024. In the New York townhouse, across multiple floors, Clemente will debut recent large-scale paintings in oil, watercolours, and frescoes, demonstrating his engagement with form and material- and melding artistic influences from India, West Africa, Egypt, and Italy to classical Greece and Rome. The subject of his new work is grounded in introspection and personal connection, echoing the expression penned by William Blake, “Love, the human form divine.”
