Art Discovery: Korean Artists

The Korean art scene has experienced notable periods of flourishing throughout its history. An early significant era was during the Joseon Dynasty (1392–1897), when traditional Korean art forms such as painting, ceramics, and calligraphy reached new heights of refinement and sophistication. During the late 20th and early 21st centuries, Korean contemporary art gained international recognition, fueled by economic growth, cultural exchange, and the emergence of prominent artists like one of our current favourites, Lee Ufan. This period saw a surge in creativity, innovation, and diversity within the Korean art scene, contributing to its global prominence.

Upon the discovery of undeniable Korean talent at this year's Art Basel in Hong Kong, anticipation grew to explore the world of Korean artists at the inaugural edition of the Art OnO fair in Seoul.
