Summer Essentials: Vibrant Floral Arrangements
Before summer ends, this is your opportunity to do something that creates vivid memories of the summer-24 season. The use of vibrant floral décor is our favourite way of brightening up this season at home. Just like having winter or Christmas festivities, summer festivities can also be created to capture the essence of the seasons and bringing life into your space.
What you would need to start with are a few small to medium sized vases to transform your home into a mini garden paradise. If you’re buying them for the first time, try and stick to simpler designs that are coordinated with one another and think about how they match your surface whether it’s your coffee table, bedside table, or dining table. When purchasing your first set of arrangements, avoid buying anything and everything that catches your eye at the flower stand, and try to visualise the selected set of flowers once put together. The more vases you can distribute your flowers in, the more festive your home will feel with summer blooms. Saturated colours evoke the warmth of summer, while mixing and matching contrasting hues will help to create your vivid arrangements. Always incorporate leafy greens to blend a colourful set of flowers, and try not to pick more than three separate hues as a beginner. For a more consistent arrangement, opt for ranges of the same hue.
As a beginner, consider asking your local florist on how to best care for your flowers when they are in their vases. As a general rule, remove or replace wilted stems to keep your arrangements looking fresh, and have plenty of water. Filling your vase(s) with cold water and positioning them away from direct sunlight or heat sources will prolong their lifespan. Think of your arrangements as your flower babies, they need to be paid attention to and taken care of. Although they have a 1-2 week life span in your vase, they would certainly enhance your home’s aesthetics and improve your mood. We believe that the sight of fresh vibrant flowers can be your daily reminder of summer’s beauty and to uplift the joyful season in your own space.
