Developing Creative Pursuits: Research, Experimentation, and Creation

Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu once said, "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”. Over the past 18 years, Eve's evolving journey towards self discovery has been captured through her various creative endeavours, from fashion design to painting to interior design.

Beyond The Art Room,1999, Eve had the opportunity to enrol into ESMOD, a renowned French fashion school, at the early age of 15. Her involvement in extracurricular classes cultivated her knowledge about fashion history and skills in technical and fashion drawings. This formative experience was motivated by her pursuit of admission into the International Baccalaureate (IB) Higher Art program during secondary school.

Perhaps a blessing in disguise, Eve's Art teacher's bias against fashion design projects redirected her creative energy during her two years of IB Higher Art studies. Working within constraints, she explored various mediums beyond her comfort zone, including abstract painting, videography, and graphic design. This period became a valuable learning experience, where she discovered the importance of research, experimentation, and creation, guided by the fundamental elements and principles of art and design.

Uncertain of what future she envisioned at the age of 18, Eve pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Global Business and Design Management, blending her creative passions into business studies, only to learn that the career path she wanted did not yet exist. Driven by her creativity and entrepreneurial endeavours in the following years, she finds herself back in the fashion world in 2014, expanding her skill set into pattern making and sewing at Italian fashion school, Instituto Moda di Burgo. Creative and entrepreneurial at heart, her spirit stayed free to keep exploring her vision.

As Eve’s creative passions evolved, she acquired skills in layout planning and 3D design in her free time, which eventually led to an opportunity in an interior design project, supporting her aspiring fashion label in Jakarta, Indonesia. Honing in on her management skills, she finds herself refurbishing her first commercial space- the atelier for her demi-couture dress label, and undertaking her first residential interior project. Upon successful project completion, Eve finds herself driven by fashion sustainability and aspiring to launch her label as a rent-only demi-couture brand in London, her second home.

An academic at heart, she moved back to London to seek more knowledge in 3D digital modelling and Luxury Brand Management. Her return to the United Kingdom played a pivotal role in co-founding London's first luxury fashion rentals company, Oprent. She also attained a Master of Science degree in Finance in the process of it all. Although deviating away from her own fashion label, this venture marked a significant stepping stone in her journey towards the world of business, entrepreneurship, sustainability, technology innovation, and investments.

Juggling postgraduate studies with entrepreneurship was an anxiously exciting way to live as a resilient woman in her late 20s. As the COVID-19 pandemic unfolded, affecting the fashion rentals business, Eve returned to her drawing board. She found solace in her artistic roots, rediscovering her love for art while further immersing herself in interior design projects. As she continues to deepen her creative pursuits, Maison Lévva was created to further discover art and interiors and to share a lifestyle that embodies beauty, joy, and elegance.
