Why Le Maison?

“The finer things in life are rooted from France” - This is one of the core beliefs driving the culture at Maison Lévva. But why France? After experiencing various cultures across the world from big cities like London, Jakarta, Shanghai, to smaller cities like Zurich, Singapore, Bali, the exposure to French culture from Paris to South of France has been prevalent on a global scale when it comes to the ranks of a high end lifestyle.

The French are often associated with a love for the finer things in life due to their rich cultural heritage, historical influence, and emphasis on art, cuisine, fashion, and lifestyle. The beliefs are based on several factors contributing to this perception:

1. Cultural Heritage: France has a long history of artistic, literary, and culinary excellence, with a tradition of fostering creativity and innovation. French culture values refinement, elegance, and sophistication, which are rooted from the Renaissance period, around the 15th century, as France emerged as a center of artistic and intellectual activity.

2. Art and Design: France has been a global center for art and design for centuries, with renowned artists, architects, and designers shaping cultural movements and setting trends. From iconic landmarks like the Palace of Versailles and Eiffel Tower, to masterpieces by artists like Monet and Picasso, France's artistic legacy continues to inspire and captivate.

3. Cuisine and Gastronomy: French cuisine is celebrated worldwide for its sophistication, technique, and attention to detail. From haute cuisine to rustic regional specialties, French food is revered for its quality ingredients, meticulous preparation, and exquisite presentation. The French also have a deep appreciation for wine, cheese, and other culinary delights, further enhancing their reputation for enjoying the finer things in life.

4. Fashion and Style: Paris stands as the unrivaled fashion capital, boasting a lineage of legendary designers and high-end boutiques. Home to iconic fashion houses like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Dior, each with over century-old legacies, it continues to set global trends and define haute couture's pinnacle.

5. Lifestyle and Leisure: The French place a strong emphasis on leisure, leisurely dining, and enjoying life's pleasures. From leisurely cafe culture to long lunches and decadent desserts, the French prioritize quality over quantity and savor the moment.

French culture values attention to detail and craftsmanship, whether in art, architecture, fashion, or cuisine. From meticulously curated interiors to impeccably tailored clothing, the French appreciate the beauty of well-made objects and experiences. These are values Maison Lévva align with, hence many inspirations from the French flair.

Our co-founder Eleena, has extensive knowledge and experience of French cultural values and plays an integral role in weaving the British and French flair into Maison Lévva. She was exposed to French culture since the age of 12 as she studied the language in school and naturally grew an acquired taste to the culture’s cuisine. Having spent time in Paris for studies and almost relocating to the French capital, she has instead integrated the culture into her lifestyle and has been returning to France annually for over a decade. She is the principal founder of London’s first luxury fashion rentals platform, Oprent, spending the majority of her twenties working with luxury fashion merchandise, while accumulating expertise in refined British and French culture. Aside from developing exquisite culinary and fashion taste, she is also a passionate art enthusiast and greatly contributes to the Maison’s most precious curated finds.
